“I have always been a storyteller. I use both words and photographs. I am endlessly fascinated by the stories of people’s lives and the connections we make with one another.”
Hi – I’m glad you found your way to my website.
I write (and read) both light-hearted romantic comedies, contemporary women’s fiction/Bookclub fiction. I also read the occasional prize-winning novel.
Hopefully, like me, you love to escape into books and live in other worlds. Like most writers, I have been an avid reader from the second I hurtled into the world (well perhaps a little bit after that). Over the years I’ve drifted around the world in search of adventure, hoping to figure out what to do with my life. I’m not sure if I have the answer yet, but writing certainly comes close. I find the creative process fascinating and it gives me an enormous amount of pleasure.
I am currently writing a RomCom series full of loveable characters and exotic locations. Perfect for your next beach read. I’m having a lot of fun writing this, however, I suspect my long-suffering family and my liver are less enthusiastic. The upside is that I can legitimately class my habit of binge-watching RomCom films and series like The Summer I Turned Pretty as ‘research.’
My debut novel was Women’s Fiction – a sweeping love story that crossed continents. If you prefer quieter, character-driven literary novels then this may be for you.
I’m impulsive and easily bored, so I have turned my hand to many jobs over the years. I have worked in places as diverse as the High Commission in Nairobi; a market stall selling cheese in the UK and an 80ft racing yacht in Australia. I’ve been a secondary school English teacher and a Barista with no discernible talent for making coffee. I’ve done admin work for a number of businesses, but discovered that offices aren’t really for me.
Possibly my favourite job was as a bookseller for Waterstones, I loved recommending books to customers and applying those 3-for-2 stickers that people find so hard to remove. For the last 19 years I’ve been a professional photographer, taking portraits of humans – often the really, really small ones.
My writing hours are sponsored by Earl Grey tea, Galaxy caramel chocolate bars and occasionally wine.
I love to chat with readers and other writers and I am a member of the Romantic Novelists Association. Have a look on the books page, or follow my social media and let’s connect.
My debut novel was called The Point Where The Ocean Ends – a sweeping love story that crosses continents. A tale of wanderlust, searching and finding home. A lyrical meditation on the importance of our memories and a reminder that letting go of the past can take a lifetime.
